The Ad Club Association of Communication Professionals’ 33rd Annual NORI Awards gala ceremony was held on on Friday, May 5, 2006, at the Crowne Plaza in Albany, NY. Over 300 members of the Capital Region’s advertising and communications community, including advertising agencies, graphic designers, audio and video production facilities, printing companies, broadcast media and public relations firms submitted over 470 samples of work completed during the 2005 calendar year. The entries were judged by a panel of six accredited media and advertising professionals from across the United States.
Highlights of the evening included the presentation of the “Best of Show” awarded to Spiral Design Studio for their entry entitled “The Spiralizer.” This piece was entered into the Self Promotion category. The Ad Club also presented this year’s Ad Club Scholarship Award to Heather Ringler of Bethlehem Central High School. After graduation, she plans to attend Sage College of Albany as a graphic design major.
Each year since 1972, the Ad Club has hosted the NORI Awards to honor outstanding achievement in advertising and communications. By applying the highest criteria to judge its members, the creative competition serves to continually raise the standards of work in the region and promote excellence in communications. Members consist of professionals from advertising agencies, broadcast television and radio, private industry, and academia and include marketing and public relations professionals, broadcast producers, graphic designers, educators, printers and more. It adds up to around 300 members, making the Ad Club one of the largest, most diverse professional communications organizations in the Capital Region.
